I was born a lotus flower, and have been trying to be a magnolia for most of my life. Now that I'm able to recognize that there are moments of panic when it's hard to decipher between my authentic self or what others(my mom basically) want me to be. Does anyone else feel similar? What's the best mantra to soften around simply not truly knowing 100% who you are?

I hear you! Showing up in the world from our true essence takes intention, courage, grace and lots and lots of practice!! Think about how long you have tried to be a Magnolia and how little time it has been since acknowledging you are a Lotus! It doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't happen all at once❤ One lesson from A Course in Miracles helps me come back when I get caught up in the old patterns and thoughts that are so ingrained... "I have chosen wrongly, but I can choose again" So when I catch myself being something I am not to please others, saying this mantra reminds me to have grace with myself and I always have a choice from moment to moment when I am awake to it. Some days we may have to bring ourselves back to this a million times and some days maybe only a few. It's all ok, and the practice of COMING BACK to who we really are is what strengthens that pathway and that knowing❤🙏🧡

Aimee, right there with you! l have spent my whole lifetime, tring to be what l thought others wanted. Now at 62, l am finally feeling that it's ok to be me. Just me and nobody else. This is simple. but l tell myself everday that l am enough. l am ok just being me. And l am starting to be ok letting all my quirks out. You are an awesome person , l love you just as you are.
